Distribution
STATUS: A widely distributed species in the New Guinea area, from Waigeo to the D'Entrecasteaux Islands. In Papua represented by two subspecies, the common ssp. lara and the rare and endemic subspecies on Japen Island, ssp. hideyoae.
PAPUA LOCALITIES: ssp. hideyoae: Japen Island: Waropen; ssp. lara: Waigeo Island; Misool Island; Numfor Island; New Guinea: Abmisibil, Akimuga, Borme, Dabra, Fakfak, Fyria River (Buruway District), Jayapura, Kanggime, Karubaga, Kobakma, Mabilabol, Marina Valen, Merauke, Modio, Ndalir, Sarmi, Senopi, Sentani, Sota, Tamrau Mts., Timika, Uapa-Topo, Wamena, Wapoga.
