MIMIC of Alcides species (Uraniidae, Uraniinae):
Distribution
STATUS: A rare species, which is widely distributed on New Guinea. It mimics the Uraniid Alcides species (see the lower pictures), but together with the antennae, the underside is also very different.
PAPUA LOCALITIES: New Guinea: Kobakma, Mokwam, Senopi, Uskwar, Wolon river (Sumbole). Details in gazetteer.
EXTERNAL DISTRIBUTION: Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands.
