Distribution
STATUS: A common species and widely distributed. In New Guinea also widely distributed in lowland and at moderate altitudes. Hindwings like in describens with a small hyaline center. The wing pattern usually brighter and more or less marbled than in describens. In papuascribens the hyaline hindwing center is much larger and the forewing pattern is more contrasted with many variations.

EXTERNAL DISTRIBUTION: Sulawesi, Ambon, Seram, Kay Islands, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands.
