Distribution
STATUS: A common species and widely distributed. In New Guinea also widely distributed in lowland and at moderate altitudes. Of all three Aegilia species in New Guinea this species is the most plain coloured one with less variation. The hyaline hindwing center is small. In indescribens the wing pattern usually is brighter and more or less marbled than in describens. In papuascribens the hyaline hindwing center is much larger and the forewing pattern is more contrasted with many variations.
