STATUS: Endemic in the Kobowre Mountains (former Weyland Mts.). Recently discovered to be separate from the very similar Monosyntaxis bipunctata (Bethune-Baker, 1904) which is endemic in the Owen Stanley Range, PNG.

PAPUA LOCALITIES: New Guinea: Enarotali, Dewaro Village, Mt. Kunupi, Paniai. Details in gazetteer.
