Stictoptera trajiciens (Walker, 1857)
Stictoptera trajiciens is easily recognizable by the white tornal triangular spot on the forewing, the row of tiny white marginal spots and the black veins in the submarginal field. Furthermore the forewingshape of the male and the narrow dark marginal band of the hindwing are diagnostic.
Distribution
STATUS: A rare species. There is hardly any variation known.
PAPUA LOCALITIES: Biak Island: Marauw; New Guinea: Abmisibil, Bivak 36 (Star Mts Expedition 1959), Mabilabol, Sibil. Details in gazetteer.
EXTERNAL DISTRIBUTION: Oriental region, Sundaland, Philippines, Sulawesi, Papua New Guinea.
