Like in cucullioides this species has dark (sub)apical streaks on the forewing but less developed. The dark margin on the hindwing is much broader in signifera than in cucullioides. In many cases a white discal spot is present, which is not seen in other species. The species is very variable.
Distribution
STATUS: A rather rare species in Papua but it is widely distributed in the Indo-Australian region with many variations.

EXTERNAL DISTRIBUTION: Indo-Australian region, including Sunda Islands, Sulawesi, Papua New Guinea, Australia.
