Lambulodes brunneomarginata (Rothschild, 1912)

subspecies or new species?
A nice series of the above depicted fenotype was collected during the recent Foja Mountains Expedition. It is not yet clear if this concerns a subspecies of Lambulodes brunneomarginata or a new species. The specimens in this series are very uniform in appearance.
Distribution
STATUS: Locally a common species, but restricted to mountain areas. Peculiar is the wide gap between Waigeo and the eastern populations on the mainland of New Guinea.
PAPUA LOCALITIES: Waigeo: Camp Nok; New Guinea: Borme, Foja Mountains, Kwerba, Landikma, Mabilabol, Mokwam, Pass Valley, Utakwa River. Details in gazetteer.
EXTERNAL DISTRIBUTION: Papua New Guinea.
