The Goat Moths (Lepidoptera: Cossidae) of Papua Indonesia
by Rob de Vos
Zeuzera reticulata Joicey & Talbot, 1916
synonym:
buergersi Gaede, 1933
Distribution
STATUS: A common species in Papua but less abundant than Z. roricyanea. It is easily distinguished from roricyanea by the more distinct and greenish pattern on the forewings and the diffuse speckles on the hindwing (which lack in roricyanea). Yakovlev (2011b) places this species in the genus Polyphagozerra Yakovlev, 2011. For the time being this is not followed here because some other specialists have comments on his splitting the genus Zeuzera into 7 (new) genera, until more clearity has been presented.
