Variation

Specimens with totally reduced white markings (f. subchalybaea) are very common and are difficult to identify.

Distribution

 

 

 

STATUS: Rather common but local in Papua. Probably mainly in cultivated areas. Widely distributed outside New Guinea and in some cases of economic importance.

PAPUA LOCALITIES: Abmisibil, Ifar, Mokwam, Pass Valley, Sentani, Wamena. Details in gazetteer.

EXTERNAL DISTRIBUTION: Indo-Australia, Papua New Guinea.
