Distribution
STATUS: Widely distributed in New Guinea. The colour pattern varies from mottled grey to black. The pale or sometimes even white blotch at the forewing costa is a character of the Papuan subspecies costiplaga. Black specimens are called f. nigrata.
PAPUA LOCALITIES: Biak Island: Biak; New Guinea: Canoe Camp (Utakwa River), Demaisi, Dotir, Fakfak, Mt. Kunupi, Mokwam, Ninay Valley, Nomnagihé, Sabron Camp (Cyclops), Senopi, Sinimburu, Wandammen Peninsula. Details in gazetteer.
