Stictoptera albipuncta Hampson, 1912
In albipuncta there is a pale tornal spot present in the forewing, which is not always pure white, sometimes yellowish or pale brown! The hindwing has a broad dark margin almost reaching the center of the wing, and with a conspicuous dark comma-shaped central spot.
Distribution
STATUS: In Papua a rather common species which is quite variable. Easily recognized by the white or pale tornal spot in the forewing.
PAPUA LOCALITIES: Batanta Island; Biak Island: Marauw; Roon Island: Yende; New Guinea: Ampas, Bivak 40 (Star Mts Expedition 1959), Gn Meja Reserve, Prafi, Senopi, Upper Setekwa River, Tuan Wowi, Uskwar. Details in gazetteer.
