Distribution
STATUS: In Papua not very common. In the Moluccas (Buru) represented by subspecies brillantina Rothschild, 1911. On the mainland of New Guinea the nomotypical subspecies occurs, on the island Numfoor ssp. fulgens. Subspecies fulgens is smaller than the other subspecies and brighter with more metallic blue on the abdomen. The species seems to prefer lower altitudes.
