Distribution
STATUS: A rather common species. Widely distributed, in New Guinea represented with two subspecies. Subspecies ornata Rothschild & Jordan, 1901 in West New Guinea, subspecies papuana Rothschild & Jordan, 1901 in East New Guinea with reduced coloured pattern.
PAPUA LOCALITIES: Waigeo Island: Camp Nok; Biak Island: Biak; New Guinea: Fakfak, Humboldt Bay, Mabilabol, Mokwam, Ngat Biep, Pim (Jutefa Bay), Samabusa, Sorong, Syoubri, Utakwa River, Yuwong (Keerom). Details in gazetteer.
EXTERNAL DISTRIBUTION: Sulawesi, Moluccas, Papua New Guinea.
