The Tigermoths (Erebidae, Arctiinae, Lithosiini) of Papua Indonesia

by Rob de Vos

Cyme reticulata Felder, 1861

ssp. reticulata Felder, 1861
placens Walker, [1865]

Distribution

STATUS: Probably the most common Cyme species in New Guinea. Two maculation phenotypes can be recognized in this species, apart of the dark forms. Phenotype 1 has a larger basal patch than the subbasal costal patch, in phenotype 2 both patches are of the same size. In phenotype 1 the median costal patch is red coloured while in phenotype 2 this patch is yellow. It is yet unclear if both phenotypes concern two distinct species or are just varieties.
