Distribution
STATUS: Widely distributed in New Guinea, but locally common. It is clear that Chaetoceras strigulosata Warren, 1907 is conspecific with C. transnigrata Warren, 1907. According to the rules of the Code for Zoological Names the first one has priority because it was decribed one page before the latter.
