The Snouted Tigers (Lepidoptera: Erebidae, Aganainae) of Papua Indonesia
by Jaap Zwier
Neochera dominia (Cramer, 1780)
ssp. papuana Rothschild, 1896
Distribution
STATUS: Rather common. On New Guinea only the subspecies papuana occurs, although some authors mention also the Moluccan subspecies affinis Rothschild, 1896 from New Guinea, but this is not correct. It seems to prefer lowland and moderate altitudes.
PAPUA LOCALITIES: Waigeo; Misool; Yapen: Waropen; New Guinea: Akimuga, Andai, Bilogai, Boma, Borme, Butiptiri, Dojo, Genyem, Getentiri, Humboldt Bay, Jayapura, Kobakma, Kouh, Manokwari, Merauke, Pass Valley, Senopi, Sentani, Sorong, Tandia, Taritatu River, Timika, Ubrub, Walmak (Nipsan), Wejan. Details in gazetteer.
